Atlantic City is one of those places people think they already know. The casinos, Boardwalk and entertainment are certainly part of the story, but beyond them are established neighborhoods, residential streets, waterfront homes and a community with roots that run much deeper than the resort image.
My own family history here goes back generations. My parents were born and raised in Atlantic City, my great-grandfather operated an awning shop on Atlantic Avenue, and I spent teenage summers working along the beach and later at Resorts. I remember Atlantic City before, during and after many of the changes that shaped the city people see today.
Atlantic City is not one single real estate experience. Beachfront condominiums, established neighborhoods, waterfront homes and investment properties can offer very different lifestyles, price points and ownership considerations.
Dining, entertainment, beaches, nightlife and major events are part of everyday life here in a way that is different from the smaller Shore towns. For some buyers, having that activity close by is exactly the attraction.
Atlantic City can offer opportunities buyers may not find elsewhere on Absecon Island, but location matters enormously. Street, neighborhood, property type, condition and intended use all deserve a careful look before price alone drives the decision.
